Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Vehicle That Looks Like a Dog New

Recently, a resourceful player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom built a remarkable device that not only looks like a giant dog but also moves in a lifelike manner. This creative achievement caught the eye of many on social media, contributing to the extensive collection of fantastic community creations from the game.

Designing mechanical animals has captured the imagination of the TOTK fandom for a while now. Following the release of the latest Zelda game in early 2023, players have been busy constructing everything from tiny bugs and soaring birds to majestic horses and fearsome dragons.

Adding to the impressive array of creations, Reddit user Kmarkow has successfully built a gigantic mechanical dog. Although they aren’t the first player from Tears of the Kingdom to take on this challenge, their design stands out because it beautifully combines both appearance and movement. This mechanical dog actually moves like a real one! Instead of just slapping a vehicle shell onto four wheels, Kmarkow crafted two axles that imitate a dog’s leg motions, making the machine resemble a playful puppy in action.

The comparison to a dog remains valid even when the device is stationary, especially since its head resembles that of a Dachshund puppy. Kmarkow cleverly utilized two angled Zonai Sleds for the ears, while showcasing even more creativity with the rest of the head. For instance, a precisely angled piece of raw meat acts as the mechanical dog’s tongue. All the parts used in this creation are quite common, so anyone familiar with the game should have all the necessary Zonai devices from Tears of the Kingdom to replicate this contraption.

Kmarkow’s Tears of the Kingdom Dog Vehicle Parts List

  • 8x Big Wheel
  • 3x Sled
  • 2x Giant Hook
  • 1x Cart
  • 1x Steering Stick
  • 1x Raw Meat
  • 1x Black Hinox Horn

The remarkable dog vehicle by Kmarkow is just one of many animal-themed creations they’ve shared. This inventive player from Tears of the Kingdom has previously built a giant caterpillar bike, a mosquito aircraft, and an autonomous kangaroo, among a variety of other imaginative designs. In a recent Reddit post, Kmarkow reflected on their work and hinted at future projects, specifically mentioning a desire to create a mechanical sloth.

Many players are still having a blast with the Ultrahand mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom, but Nintendo seems to view them as a one-time feature. In a December 2023 chat with Game Informer, series producer Eiji Aonuma mentioned that the upcoming 3D Zelda game will focus on “creating something new” instead of revisiting most of the systems from TOTK.
