Niantic, the developer behind Pokemon GO, has announced the return of the limited-time Fashion Week event, set to kick off as one of the first events of 2025. Players can look forward to encountering new costumed Pokemon and enjoying extra rewards through various event bonuses and Field Research tasks.
Pokemon GO kicked off the New Year 2025 with a special event to excite fans for the upcoming year filled with updates and activities. This January, players can look forward to a Mega Gallade Raid Day, the next Community Day, and a fun collaboration with McDonald’s, among other things. Additionally, Fashion Week has been introduced, offering players a chance to snag some fantastic rewards.
Mark your calendars for Pokemon GO Fashion Week, starting on Friday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. local time and running through Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time! During this event, players will earn double Stardust for catching Pokemon, and those at level 31 and higher will have double the chance to receive Candy XL. Look out for a costumed shiny Kirlia in the wild, along with costumed Diglett and Blitzle. After completing Fashion Week Field Research tasks, you can also encounter costumed Butterfree, Dragonite, Minccino, and Cinccino, with a chance to find their shiny versions. Additionally, Skitty, Buneary, Furfrou, and Bruxish will be more common in the wild!

- Pokemon GO Fashion Week will be live from January 10 at 10:00 a.m. to January 19 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
- Players can earn double Stardust and Candy XL by participating in Fashion Week.
- There’s an increased chance of encountering the following Pokemon in the wild and in raids:
- Costumed Butterfree
- Costumed Dragonite
- Costumed Minccino
- Furfrou
- Costumed Cinccino
- Costumed Diglett
- Skitty
- Buneary
- Costumed Blitzle
- Bruxish
- Costumed Kirlia
- Costumed Shinx
- Completing Fashion Week Field Research and Paid Timed Research tasks grants additional encounters and rewards.
Fashion Week will feature one-star and three-star raids, providing players with a great opportunity to catch some of the new costumed Pokémon, including a special costumed Shinx. You can use Pokémon GO’s Remote Raid Passes to join these raids from anywhere. If you’re looking to boost your XP and Stardust after finishing Field Research tasks, you can grab the new Fashion Week Paid Timed Research for just $5. This Timed Research offers rewards like 3,500 XP, 3,500 Stardust, a unique event-themed pose, and extra encounters with the highlighted Pokémon from Fashion Week. Just remember, you need to claim your Timed Research rewards before the event wraps up!
Players can look forward to new Plaid Top and Plaid Pants avatar items in the Pokemon GO shop, which will still be available for purchase after Fashion Week concludes. Similar to earlier events, participants can enter their newly caught Pokemon in PokeStop Showcases to earn rewards throughout Fashion Week. Furthermore, Niantic has revealed a Fashion Week-themed Collection Challenge, and completing it will provide players with bonus XP and a guaranteed encounter with a costumed Shinx.
