Pokemon GO Event Adding Long-Requested Feature for a Limited Time New

Niantic has revealed that players of Pokemon GO will have the opportunity to use remote raid passes for Shadow Raids for the first time during the upcoming Fashion Week: Taken Over event. As 2025 begins, Niantic is rolling out several exciting updates for the beloved augmented reality game. In January, players of Pokemon GO can look forward to the return of Ralts during the second Community Day of the month. With a fresh event on the horizon, the developers have delighted fans by introducing a long-anticipated feature to the mobile experience.

The Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces an exciting feature for trainers, allowing the use of remote raid passes for Shadow Raids for the very first time. This event is scheduled from Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During this period, players can engage in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids, whether in person or from a distance.

Players will have the opportunity to engage in remote battles during the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid day on January 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, although this feature is exclusive to the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. This special raid day offers trainers an enhanced chance to capture the rare shiny shadow Ho-Oh, making it an exciting prospect for collectors.

It’s uncertain whether Niantic will permit the use of remote raid passes for shadow raids in the future or if this is just a temporary situation.
