Captain America: Brave New World Could Be Hiding An Important Black Panther Cameo New

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is venturing into unique territory with the release of Captain America: Brave New World. Although the iconic shield has passed to a new bearer, Captain America now shares the distinction of having starred in four solo films, a feat that places him alongside Thor. This milestone is particularly noteworthy as he joins Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who is also set to make his mark with the forthcoming Spider-Man 4.

Anthony Mackie first introduced his character, Sam Wilson, in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and now he is ready to embrace the mantle of Captain America. After officially assuming the role in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, audiences are eager to see how this new chapter unfolds without the iconic Steve Rogers, portrayed by Chris Evans. The anticipation surrounding the upcoming film, Brave New World, is palpable, especially with its promise of a fresh take on the Captain America legacy.

Captain America: Brave New World’s Black Panther Connection

In the upcoming film Brave New World, Captain America is donning an exciting new suit that pays homage to his days alongside Falcon. This fresh look not only enhances his iconic star-spangled persona but also introduces the thrilling ability for him to take to the skies. Recent footage has revealed him gliding through the air, with stunning visuals showcasing him flying past the Celestial remains of Tiamut, cleverly linking back to the intriguing post-credits scene from the 2021 film Eternals

At the conclusion of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wilson had the opportunity to don an enhanced suit designed by the talented team at the Wakanda Design Group. However, it appears that he will be receiving an even more advanced iteration in the upcoming Captain America film. This new suit is set to feature a fully equipped helmet, likely intended to assist him during supersonic flights, along with a range of innovative Wakandan technology integrated into the design of his Captain America attire.

Mackie has previously discussed the significance of his Wakandan suit, sharing insights during the Disney APAC Content Showcase held in Singapore. He emphasized how the suit represents not just a piece of clothing, but a symbol of heritage and strength that connects him to the rich culture of Wakanda. This connection adds depth to his character and enhances the storytelling within the Marvel universe.

I went to Wakanda, met with everybody in Wakanda, we had dinner. It was a great time. They threw me a welcome party. It was dope. But when I was leaving, they gave me a suit, right?

There are noticeable gaps in the narrative, yet it seems that “Brave New World” may not feature a transition to Wakanda. This is likely because the storyline is already packed with a variety of characters, including Thunderbolt Ross, Joaquin Torres (played by Danny Ramirez) who takes on the Falcon mantle, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, and the much-anticipated return of Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader. Despite this crowded roster, the inclusion of the suit and its advanced Wakandan technology appears to play a significant role in the unfolding plot.

I put it on. I can kick harder, I can fly faster, and it gives me the ability to be more agile in my skills, so it’s taking all my skills to a completely different level.

Mackie mentions that the Wakandan Design Group is responsible for his new suit, subtly hinting at their involvement without explicitly naming Shuri. This opens the door to some exciting possibilities for cameos. Beyond just the advanced technology from Wakanda appearing in “Brave New World,” there’s a chance that we might see some beloved characters from the Black Panther films making an appearance as well.

Could Shuri Appear in Captain America: Brave New World?

Following the unveiling of Wakanda to the global community at the conclusion of Black Panther, the nation has found itself embroiled in a series of political struggles. This turmoil became particularly pronounced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Wakanda was caught in a conflict involving both the CIA and the underwater realm of Talokan. The stakes were high as Queen Ramonda, portrayed by Angela Bassett, took on the role of Wakanda’s representative at the United Nations, navigating the complexities of international diplomacy amidst rising tensions.

A significant addition to the narrative would undoubtedly be Black Panther herself. At the conclusion of “Wakanda Forever,” Shuri made the decision to leave Wakanda and reconnect with Nakia, portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o, in Haiti, where she also had the opportunity to meet T’Challa’s son. This moment not only highlights her personal journey but also sets the stage for future developments in the Black Panther legacy.

The inclusion of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier highlighted the strength of ensemble casts in the Captain America films. These movies have consistently showcased a variety of characters, creating a rich tapestry of interactions and storylines. However, if Shuri were to play a significant role in upcoming projects, we would likely have seen her featured or at least hinted at by now, which raises questions about her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The connection between Brave New World and Black Panther might be as straightforward as a casual reference to the origin of Sam’s new suit. If Tiamut had been crafted from vibranium rather than adamantium, it could have seamlessly integrated Black Panther into the narrative. However, the current storyline hints at a more tentative relationship with Wolverine, suggesting a strategic setup for the upcoming introduction of the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There are bound to be numerous unexpected twists in Captain America: Brave New World. As the narrative builds towards a climactic Doomsday scenario, both Julius Onah’s film and Jake Schreier’s Thunderbolts are poised to conclude Phase 5 with a more realistic approach. The challenges faced during the production of Brave New World might actually turn out to be beneficial. With an extensive number of reshoots, there’s a possibility that the filmmakers could introduce a surprise character or two, adding an exciting layer to the story.
