A recent rumor circulating within the Genshin Impact community suggests that Iansan might be a 5-Star character in Version 5.4. Although Natlan has already brought in many beloved characters, Iansan has been on the radar of Genshin Impact players since the Travail trailer released in 2020. Her element was confirmed as Electro during the Ignition teaser for Natlan, but the debate over Iansan’s rarity has sparked considerable discussion among fans and leakers, particularly as we approach Version 5.3.
Players currently know that Iansan is scheduled to debut in Genshin Impact during Version 5.4. This update is anticipated to bring a new area to Natlan, making Iansan essential for players to explore, similar to the abilities of the Tatankasaurus from the Collective of Plenty. Additionally, Version 5.4 will introduce Mizuki, a 5-Star Anemo character from Inazuma, to the roster. Although it seemed likely that Iansan would be the 4-Star character for this version, there’s a possibility that Genshin Impact has altered its plans.
Miruko has stated that Iansan will be a 5-Star Electro character. Known for sharing Capitano’s sword model and music tracks from Version 5.0, Miruko has established credibility as a leaker with early access to Genshin Impact content. However, this claim about Iansan’s rarity is one of the most daring in recent updates. Miruko mentioned that this information is two months old, suggesting that the developers might have reconsidered Iansan’s rarity following the Archon Quest in Version 5.1.
Genshin Impact: Iansan Could Be a 5-Star Character
It’s important to approach this leak with some skepticism for a few reasons. Iansan’s symbol appears in the Pilgrim’s Chronicle alongside Ororon and Kachina, both of whom are also 4-Star characters from Natlan. If Iansan were a 5-Star character in Genshin Impact, her symbol would likely have been reserved for the Tribal Chronicle. Therefore, it seems reasonable to conclude that Iansan is a 4-Star member of the Collective of Plenty, while Varesa is the 5-Star representative of the tribe.
Additionally, the upcoming characters in Genshin Impact feature Iansan alongside Varesa, who is not expected to appear until Version 5.5. There seems to be a trend where 4-Star characters from a Natlan tribe, like Kachina and Xilonen, and Ororon and Citlali, are released before their 5-Star counterparts. This could be because 5-Star characters have a more advanced version of their tribe’s exploration abilities. Luckily, players won’t have to wait long for Genshin Impact to announce Iansan’s rarity, as her promotional campaign is likely to begin soon. Version 5.4 is set to launch on February 12, 2025.
